2032 coin cells are a common geometry for testing small quantities of electrochemical behavior. Typically, a coin cell consists of a stack of a pan, anode, separator, cathode, current collector, and a cap. The cell is then crimped, to seal the chamber from external atmosphere.
Current collectors may be a stainless steel disc and wave spring, or a piece of nickel foam. nickel foam is cheaper than wave springs
